Christmas time again?!?

It's Christmas time again. I can't believe it! Another year come and gone already! Four years ago, I was saved and baptized. It's so amazing how different you look at Christmas once this takes place.

Before I came to know the Lord, Christmas was simply a time of tinsel, pretty lights, presents that you couldn't afford. What a difference ONE prayer can make!

Being saved from our sins.... Does it make us more righteous when celebrating the holidays? I know I am more "enlightened" than I ever used to be. There is a unique spirit of peace. Kind of like soft fallen snow. For the short time, people feel something "different." Strangers helping strangers, people in a rush, but find time to stop to help someone out, picking a name tag off the beautiful tree inside the mall to buy a nice gift for a child in need. It's such a nice time of year, but ends so quickly along with the spirit. I remember when my heart was in a different place on the holidays. Since I have become a Christian, I love to celebrate more than just the gifts. Teaching my children the fundamentals of Christianity and just what this special day endures is very special too.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
I was given many blessings throughout the holidays this year. The health of my family, once broken friendships, now reunited, the ability to thank the Lord what he has done in my life and just to be so thankful for time with my family this year was more than enough for me.

This year, we taught our Children the gift of giving. It was an honor to see the hearts of our children so soft and meaningful. This was a moment I will forever cherrish as a mother. Cameron, our oldest received a handmade gift from his sister. This was so sweet, it brought all of us to tears. The first thing he did was hang it over his bed. This moment showed me all the hard work as a parent is starting to pay off. I am so blessed.
We had such a great time celebrating CHRISTmas with our children, that I am already looking forward to next year and what I can bring "new" to the table. God bless, and I hope everyone else was just as blessed this season.
