With school almost out for the summer, I have been planning different activities, camps and things to keep the kids busy. With Cameron in Karate 2 times a week and Jocelyn going into Ballet and dance along with a few church camps and our family activities, they should be kept plenty busy and worn out "most" of the time. LOL
Our Journey began on learning about Sunflowers today. As the days get nicer, I have decided why NOT learn about animals and nature?!? Sounds like a great plan to me! So today started out with a sunflower project, which by the way... turned out very cute. The kids also learned more in depth about the sunflower... they learned that the flower buds are used for salads, dyes and oil for cooking. The stem parts have been used to make teas and medicines. They originated from ancient times dating back to nearly 3,000 years. The kids were really in tune with this project, I was super excited to see them so focused.
Tomorrow we are going to plant our seeds in little containers and watch them grow. This will be very exciting and already a little competition going on between the kids on how fast their flower is going to grow.
